One of our strong beliefs at Drainmen Services is to save and preserve our very precious water source in the most effective and efficient ways. Our Ecogator Grey water system is designed to ensure the recycling of household water in the most efficient manner. One of the best ways to preserve water is by re-using the grey water from your household or building. Even when there is no rain – you still have your daily household water to re-use in your garden and or landscaping.
Household waste pipes such as from your shower, bath, basins and washing machine are extended to a central point, where it passes through a filter system into the water tank from where it is pumped to your garden areas. Kitchen water should not be used as the greasiness and fatty residue may block the irrigation pump and pipes and could pose a health risk (ask us for a separate system for this if needed or required)
Everything needed is included in our Ecogator Grey Water system
(Includes: a high-quality durable tank system, a low-maintenance filter system, a high-volume high-quality automatic pump system, overflow and a full user manual).
Our system has been specifically designed by one of the foremost Engineers in Cape Town and is carefully manufactured to be easily cleaned, serviced and maintained and is made of highly durable roto moulded for strength Polyethylene which is non-corrosive and rust free!
The size of the Ecogator Grey Water System is 120 litres which is the perfect and calculated general size to ensure the corrective timing and movement of the waste water so as not to remain stagnant. With the regulated automatic pump system, this easily inhibits bacteria growth and the forming of odours. The average household could save up to 50 litres per person per day to re-use in your garden. That right, 50l saving per person per day !
DID YOU KNOW?
An average household (family of 4) will use between 300l-400l of reusable water on a daily basis. The residues, soaps etc in the water in diluted quantities can provide useful sulfates and nitrates which some experts say is more beneficial to the garden than clean tap water.
It is advisable to use biodegradable products in the washing machine. The average suburban garden accounts for about 35% of domestic water consumption. Most of the concerns about grey water are to do with the hygiene aspect and odours of the water, but both these aspects are eliminated if the water is re-used as soon as possible.
In the Western Cape, water is already an issue and with the growing population and limited resources for collection of water, there will come a time when water restrictions and penalties will be permanently in place.
The world’s natural resources are under more and more pressure each year, and new innovative products are needed to help protect our environment.
