NSRI 4X4 Day - 2 October 2010 The Melkbostrand station of the NSRI had their annual 4X4 Family Fun day at the Koeberg Nature reserve.

A massive turnout of 4X4 enthusiasts eager to test their skills made for an exciting day that went on well into the afternoon.

As avid supporters of the NSRI, Drainmen Services were strongly represented on the day through participation in the event as well as their visual presence on the day.

4x4's were sent out in packs of 15 vehicles at a time. All-in-all an easy but scenic route through the dunes and a lengthy stretch overlooking the sea. For the more adventurous there were a few "diversions" into tougher and steeper terain. A few stops were taken along the way to stretch, grab a bite to eat and ensure that everyone could enjoy the view... without the bouncing!

Drainmen Tygerberg tackle Radiator Hill! This alternative obstacle caused a few fender benders....

After the sun and sand had been left behind there was plenty to do back at the "base camp" with jumping castles, miniature quad rides and water-walking balls for the kids and live music, dancing, good food and a bar for the adults.

Hats off to the NSRI for the organizing of the event and to Koeberg Nature Reserve for their contribution as the hosts. We look forward to the 2011 event...
