POOL BACKWASH TANKS

The ecogator Pool Backwash Tank is easy to use and is eco-friendly. It stores and cleans backwash water from your pool and recycles it back to your swimming pool.

The system could be installed near or far from your pool (wherever aesthetically pleasing). We are then able to connect all the plumbing pipework (we are well known for our plumbing and drainage services in Cape Town and Johannesburg after all) which amongst others means, connecting the backwash outlet pipe from the pool pump to the ecogator inlet pipe and pump the water into the tank.

The water is first chlorinated with a special inline slow release chlorinator, to clean it. This water is then left in the tank for 24 hours to allow the sediment and debris to settle at the bottom of the tank. When this process is finished, the clear water is recycled back into the pool. This assists in maintaining your pool water level without wasting precious drinking water to fill your pool.

The system also constructively has a by-pass function to by-pass backwash water when needed. This is ideal when “wasting” the pool water to get rid of severe sludge build-up (water not suitable for recycling) or within the first seconds of the backwash water running through the system.

This system is installed as an add-on to your existing pool filtration system and does not interfere with the usual functions thereof. This is a great efficient and smartly designed system, build to save you not only millions of litres of water during its lifetime but to save you many thousands of rand’s and to preserve our most precious yet scarce potable/drinking water.

For larger size pools such as in gyms, hotels etc…we can connect two or more tanks up in series. Once installed the maintenance and services of such a water saving system is very basic and to assist you further if needed or required, we have simple yet practical deep cleaning maintenance service contracts should you wish for us to handle that side of the business too periodically.
