COMMERCIAL, MARINE & INDUSTRIAL PLUMBING & DRAINAGE WORK:

Commercial - Drainmen Plumbing Services Cape Town

Realistically, there are few professional plumbing and drainage contractors in South Africa truly equipped to handle more than domestic work. Over the past 30 years, Drainmen Services has invested heavily to ensure we have everything necessary to conduct Commercial, Marine, and Industrial Plumbing & Drainage work.

Not only do we have the required equipment and machinery for these heavy-duty projects, but more importantly, we possess the knowledge and skills developed over 30 years, with a combined 100 years of experience. Whether your project is offshore or on land, we can cater to all your needs in this market sector.

Drainmen Services has completed more than 500 inductions since its inception, working on oil rigs, ships, cargo vessels, various ports, tugging vessels, commercial fishing vessels, and for many of South Africa’s industry leaders, including petroleum companies, oil companies, large food handling and logistics companies, chain store groups, engineering firms, and more.

Our project management ensures that all work is carried out professionally and promptly from start to finish. Any additional work assigned is handled seamlessly due to the close collaboration between our Operations Managers and Project Management teams, enabling us to fulfill all your needs.

In addition to our ability to manage large plumbing and drainage projects, we have a vast network of national suppliers available 24/7, ensuring we can meet clients’ needs for industrial materials or consumables. Our 24-hour rotational teams and clear communication during handovers ensure smooth business operations.

Drainmen Services employs not only qualified personnel to operate the necessary machinery and equipment for plumbing and drainage but also full-time experienced coded welders for various forms of steelwork, including mild steel, aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, cast iron, zinc, brass, carbon, copper brazing, and more. Some of our welding specialties include but are not limited to:

  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW): Also known as “stick welding,” this uses an electrode with flux around it. The electrode melts away as it’s used, and slag protects the weld puddle from contamination.

  • Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW): Commonly known as TIG welding, it uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode to produce the weld. The weld area is shielded from atmospheric contamination by an inert gas like argon or helium.

  • Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW): Known as MIG welding, this process uses a wire-feeding gun that sprays an argon-based shielding gas or a mix of argon and CO2 over the weld puddle for protection.

  • Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW): Similar to MIG welding but uses a tubular wire filled with flux, which can be used with or without shielding gas.

  • Electroslag Welding (ESW): A highly productive, single-pass welding process for thicker materials, typically between 1 inch (25 mm) and 12 inches (300 mm), used in a vertical or near-vertical position.

SAFETY & RISK ASSESSMENTS

Safety and risk assessments change to suite certain commercial, marine and industrial services and maintenance projects. We have developed over the years many safety files which specifically cater for each respective projects from the word go !

Teams are all instructed with regards the necessary PPE equipment prior to any project being commenced thus ensuring that the safety needs are met all round. Due to our commercial and industrial staff being qualified coded welders (and fitter and turners / boiler makers) we leave nothing to chance when it comes to the final end product being delivered in a safe way.
